The Ghana Embassy in The Hague started its operations in 1998. The Embassy has witnessed the appointment of four former Ambassadors in the personalities of H.E.Mrs. Brookman Amissah (1998-2000), H.E. Dr(Mrs) Grace Amponsah-Ababio (2001-2008) H.E. Mrs. Aanaa N. Enin (2009-2013), and the immediate past Ambassador H.E. Dr. J. Tony Aidoo (2014-2017).
The current ambassador, Her Excellency Ms. Sophia Horner-Sam, presented her Letters of Credence to His Majesty the King of the Netherlands Willem-Alexander, at the Noordeinde Palace in The Hague on 25th October, 2017.
The Ghanaian community in the Netherlands
The Ghanaian migrants constitute a substantial immigrant community in the Netherlands, keeping alive a relationship that began some 300 years ago. The Ghanaian community has increased steadily from over 12,000 in 1996 to close to 30,000 today.
